Pitch deck services
Pitch deck writing, from your notes to a clear argument.
Writing a deck is deciding what to leave out. You send a rough draft, notes or even a long document. We find the one argument inside it, write it as a sequence of slide headlines, and then design the deck around them.
Fixed prices from $1,500 to $10,000. No calls: everything in writing.
Before / after
"Our Solution" becomes "Nurses finish charting in 4 minutes"
Illustration only. Any figures are invented for this sample slide.
How we write a deck
- Read everything you send and write the argument as ten to fifteen sentences.
- Send you that outline in writing for approval before any design starts.
- Turn each sentence into a slide headline and choose the one piece of evidence that supports it.
- Write supporting text short enough to read while someone is talking.
Headlines that carry the deck
A reader who only skims the headlines should still get the whole pitch. That is the test we write to. Labels like "Traction" tell an investor nothing; "Revenue doubled twice in twelve months" tells them what to look for in the chart.
What we need from you
Your facts. We can sharpen how something is said, but the numbers, customers and plans have to come from you. We will list in writing anything the deck needs that you have not given us.
Which package
Writing is part of Finish + Story (up to 20 slides) and Raise Set (up to 30 slides, a one-pager and a teaser). Investor Finish is design only.
The questions behind every slide
Questions to ask before you hire anyone
Answered for how we work: fixed packages, written briefs, no calls.
- 1
How much source material do you need?
Enough to hold every fact in the deck. A previous deck, a business plan, a long email or a set of notes all work. If something is missing, we list it in writing.
- 2
Will you add figures we did not give you?
No. Every number comes from you. If a slide needs a figure you have not sent, we ask for it in writing.
- 3
When do we see the writing?
Before any design. We send the argument as an outline of slide headlines for your written approval, then design around the approved text.
- 4
Can you match how we talk about our product?
Yes. We keep your terms for your product, customers and market. Send any glossary or messaging document you already use.
- 5
Can you write the email that goes with the deck?
Email copy is not part of the standard packages. Raise Set includes a teaser built for cold outreach. Other writing is quoted in writing.
- 6
Do you write speaker notes or a script?
Not in the standard packages. Ask, and we quote it in writing before starting.
- 7
Who is the author of the finished deck?
You are. The deck is yours to use, edit and present as your own.
- 8
Can you write for a non-investor reader, such as a sponsor or donor?
Yes. The approach is the same: find the one argument and write it as a sequence of headlines. The argument changes with the reader.
