Types of pitch decks: which one do you need?

Founders often send the wrong deck to the right person. A deck built for a partner meeting will not work as a cold email attachment. Here are the common types and when to use each.

Fixed prices from $1,500 to $10,000. No calls: everything in writing.

Investor deck

The full case for investment. Ten to fifteen slides. Used in meetings and sent on request.

Teaser

Four to six slides sent cold to earn a reply. No confidential detail.

One-pager

A single page with the essentials, for forwarding and for people who will not open a deck.

Demo day deck

A few slides for a timed presentation of two to five minutes. Large type, almost no text.

Sales deck

For customers: their problem, your product, proof and price.

Partnership deck

For another company: what each side gains and how it would work.

Board deck

For existing investors and directors: performance, issues and decisions needed.

Packages

When you want it finished for you.

Each package states what you get, how long it takes and where it stops. None includes a call.
