By funding stage · Demo day deck

Demo day decks for a few minutes on stage.

Demo day decks are read from the back of a room for a few minutes. They need large type, one idea per slide and one number people remember.

Fixed prices. No calls: you brief us in writing and comment in writing.

Stage

One number the room remembers

Illustration only. Any figures are invented for this sample slide.

Who reads it

Investors watching many pitches in a row.

Turnaround

5 business days for a design rebuild; 3 business days for an audit.

How it differs

How a demo day deck differs from a general pitch deck

Compared with a seed deck sent by email, a demo day deck is watched once, from a distance, in a few minutes, among many others. It does not have to answer every question; it has to make the right investors want a meeting. That means fewer slides, one idea each, large type and one number repeated. The full argument moves to a follow-up deck, sent the same day, which reads like a normal seed deck.

Slide by slide

What goes in a demo day deck

  1. 01

    What you do

    One line.

  2. 02

    Problem

    One image, one sentence.

  3. 03

    Product

    One screen.

  4. 04

    Traction

    The number to remember.

  5. 05

    Market

    One figure.

  6. 06

    Team

    Faces and one credential each.

  7. 07

    Ask

    Amount and contact.

The questions behind every slide

What readers of a demo day deck ask

Each answer names the slide or document where it belongs. If a question has no home in your deck, the reader will ask it in writing, or stop reading.

  1. 1

What does the company do, in one sentence?

The opening slide should state it plainly so a listener can repeat it to a colleague afterward.

  2. 2

What is the number to remember?

The traction slide should carry one dated metric, large, with its growth period stated.

  3. 3

    How fast are you growing?

The traction slide should give the growth rate with the period it covers, not an unlabeled curve.

  4. 4

    Why this team?

The team slide should give each founder one credential that relates to the problem.

  5. 5

    How much are you raising?

The ask slide should state the amount; terms belong in the follow-up conversation.

  6. 6

    Where can I see more?

The follow-up deck, sent the same day, should carry the detail the stage deck leaves out.

  7. 7

    How do I reach you?

The last slide should show a name and email address large enough to photograph.

  8. 8

    Who else is investing?

Mention committed investors on the ask slide only if they have agreed to be named.

Headline rewrites

Slide titles that say something.

A reader skims headlines first. A label tells them the topic; a sentence tells them the point. Bracketed figures are placeholders for your own numbers.

What we fix

Faults we see in demo day deck drafts

  • Small type.

  • Too many slides for the time.

  • No single memorable number.

What you receive

Documents we produce

  • Follow-up deck
  • One-page summary

Every file is delivered editable, in PowerPoint, Google Slides or Keynote, with a PDF for sending. A demo day deck rebuild starts at $3,500; the full Raise Set with one-pager and teaser is $10,000.
